Doggett Scores Twice In Road Loss

Looking to bounce back from a tough loss on Friday night, the Dundas Real McCoys traveled to St. Catharines to face the Saints. Unfortunately, five goals weren’t enough, as the Saints took the game 8-5.

Danny Attridge scored for the second consecutive night, opening the scoring just over three minutes into the game. The Saints took control from there, however, scoring the next five goals: two in the first period and three in the second.

Holden Doggett stopped the bleeding with 1:21 left in the middle frame, cutting the Saints’ lead to 5-2.

The McCoys showed fight in the third, matching St. Catharines with three goals of their own. Paul Cianfini scored his first of the season, Doggett added his second of the night 41 seconds later, and Nolan Sheeran capped the scoring on the power play. Sheeran finished with a goal and two assists, while Doggett’s pair of goals led the team. Attridge also added an assist to go with his opening goal.

In his McCoys debut, Mario Cavaliere took the loss, making 41 saves on 49 shots.

The McCoys remain on the road for the next three games, all against the Wentworth Gryphins at Harry Howell Arena in Waterdown, beginning Thursday, November 5th. Dundas will then open their home schedule on Friday, November 27th, when they host the Gryphins for the fourth straight meeting between the two clubs at J.L. Grightmire Arena. Puck drop for both games is 7:30 pm.
