A depleted Dundas Real McCoys squad pushed the first place Stoney Creek Tigers to the limit on the road Saturday night. However, three third period goals proved to be costly as Dundas dropped the game 6-3.

It was the McCoys who opened the scoring getting the first marker from Ralph Taggart, his sixth of the year, at the 10:26 mark of the opening period. Trevor Atkinson would then score on a two-man advantage at 12:13 to give Dundas a 2-0 lead. The Tigers would roar back in the latter minutes of the period, scoring twice to even the game at two headed to the break.

Stoney Creek would get the lone goal in the second period to take the one-goal lead and then extended it 6:27 into the third. Tim Carr would respond for the McCoys to get his squad back within a goal, but the Tigers would get two insurance goals late in the game to secure the victory.

Mike Mole kept the McCoys in the game, stopping 33 of 39 shots in the loss.

Dundas is expected to get players back from injury and commitments for their next game, which is at home against the Tigers on Friday February 6th starting at 7:30pm.
