The Dundas Real McCoys open the 2026-27 ACHL season with five straight road games, and the first came Friday night against their old rivals, the Cambridge Hornets, at Galt Arena Gardens. The lineup featured some familiar faces along with some new ones in McCoys jerseys.
Cambridge opened the scoring with two goals early in the first period, but newcomer Darien Kielb and veteran Dan LaPointe each answered to even the game at two after 20 minutes.
The Hornets regained the lead with the only goal of the second period and took a 3-2 edge into the third. Early in the final frame, Danny Attridge scored an unassisted goal to tie the game at three. Unfortunately for the McCoys, that was the last of their offence, as Cambridge scored the next four goals to win 7-3.
Mike Mole was in net for Dundas, stopping 34 of the 41 shots he faced.
The McCoys are back in action Saturday, October 24th, when they visit the St. Catharines Saints at Merritton Centennial Arena. Puck drop is 7:30pm. Dundas’ home opener is Friday, November 27th, when the Wentworth Gryphins visit J.L. Grightmire Arena. Puck drop is also 7:30pm.
