Dundas hosted the Cambridge Hornets on Friday night at the J.L. Grightmire Arena in a game that featured a significant franchise milestone but ultimately ended in disappointment for the home side.
The evening belonged to captain Simon Mangos, who became the franchise leader in games played by a defenseman with his 178th career appearance, surpassing Tom Brown (2004-12). Unfortunately for the McCoys, the milestone came in a 5-2 losing effort.
The McCoys found themselves in an early hole, surrendering the first two goals of the contest. However, Dundas battled back as Nolan Sheeran and Brad Bonello each found the back of the net, sending the teams to the first intermission deadlocked at 2-2.
From there, the Hornets took control, scoring three unanswered goals over the final two periods to seal the victory.
Ryan DeMelo kept the McCoys in the contest, stopping 42 of 47 shots in the loss.
