Dundas looked to extend their winning streak on the road Thursday night, but the Wentworth Gryphins held tight, defeating the McCoys 6-4.
The McCoys found themselves down by two before the midway point of the opening period, but Simon Mangos and Cam Fergus evened the score at two before the close of the first.
Dundas was unable to find the back of the net in the second period and fell behind by two before Mackenzie Wood and Nathan Longpre scored at 1:06 and 4:10 of the third period respectively to tie up the game at four. Longpre’s goal was his fourth point of the night, assisting on the other three Dundas goals.
Unfortunately, the Gryphins added a pair of goals late in the final frame to defeat Dundas and put a halt to the four-game winning streak.
Ryan DeMelo took the loss, stopping 44 of 50 shots he faced.
The McCoys will need to have short memories as they look to rebound on Friday night when they host the Cambridge Hornets at the J.L. Grightmire Arena starting at 7:30pm.
